Landmark Showcase:

The landmark of the week is the Goodyear Airdock. Originally built in 1929 by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, this structure was constructed to house the construction of the company's iconic airships, including the famous Goodyear blimps. It is one of the largest buildings in the world without interior supports, covering over 364,000 square feet and soaring to a height of 211 feet. The Airdock's design allows it to accommodate the construction and maintenance of large airships, making it an engineering marvel of its time. Today Lockheed Martin owns the Airdock and conducts research there but it is still a pillar of Akron's industrial history and innovation.
Story Of The Week: Northern Lights Shine In Ohio!

Imagine looking up at the night sky in Ohio and seeing colorful lights dancing across it -believe it or not that's exactly what happened recently when Ohioans got to witness the northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis. These stunning lights are usually only visible in places much farther north, like Alaska or Scandinavia. So, you might be curious to why Ohio got to see this rare phenomenon? It was all thanks to something called a geomagnetic storm. This storm was caused by powerful bursts of energy and magnetic material from the sun, called coronal mass ejections. When these bursts hit the Earth, they create disturbances in our planet's magnetic field, making the northern lights visible much farther south than usual. Despite varying weather conditions across Ohio, many people were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of this incredible sight. It's not every day that you get to witness something so magical like that in Ohio, reminding us all of the beauty and wonder of the natural world.
